Task management
A task consists of a description and one or more actions. One or more triggers determine at which interval or under which condition a task is due. Completed tasks are logged in the task journal.
View tasks
Once the optional add-on is booked, the icon appears in the header. If you click on the task icon, the due tasks will appear. By clicking on All Tasks a dialog for managing all tasks appears.
Define task
In the Manage tasks dialog, click Create new task. The following settings can be defined in the dialog that opens.
Name | Name of the task, which will appear in the list of tasks to be completed. |
Description | Description of what is to be done by the executing user. |
Responsible persons
A task can optionally be assigned to specific users. Only these users will see the task when it is due.
Trigger
With Add trigger one or more conditions can be defined when the task is due. The task is displayed as due as soon as the condition of one trigger is fulfilled.
- Boolean value: inactive/active: Task is due when a logical tag becomes inactive or active.
- Numeric: multiple of X: Recurring due based on a metered value (e.g. every X operating hours or every X kilometers).
- Numeric: Greater/Smaller X: Due when a numeric tag exceeds or falls below a threshold value (e.g. as soon as temperature > 90°C).
- Fix date: One-time maturity on a fixed date.
- Every X days/months: Recurring at a given interval in days or months.
- Weekly: Every week on a specified day of the week.
- Monthly: Every month on a specified day of the month.
Actions
Any number of actions can be added to a task. They give instructions to the user and require input, which can be inspected in the journal. Each action can be marked as Required so that the task can only be completed when the input has been made.
- Enter text: Entering a free text for documentation purposes.
- Enter number: Entering a number for documentation purposes (e.g. read measured value).
- Specify yes/no: Answer yes or no to question (e.g. filter change done?).
- Capture photo: Take a photo with the device camera or upload a photo file.
- Enter tag value: Writing of a tag value (logical, numeric or text) including storing in the tag history (e.g. for manual reading of meters or measured values with the possibility of data analysis).
- Privide document: Upload a PDF document for documentation purposes.
Task journal
The icon takes you to the journal of the respective task. It shows a list with timestamps and users of all task completions. With the symbol a PDF report can be created. Clicking on the icon will display the details.
Tip: The checkbox in front of each line can be used to select multiple entries. The selected entries can then be exported in bulk to a PDF document or to an Excel sheet.
